With its ability to measure flow velocity in blood vessels, the Doppler sonography provides a perfect understanding of the hemodynamic situation under normal and pathological conditions. Due to the case the technology is being constantly developed and improved, the DWL® Doppler systems have been able to maintain their position alongside to much more complicated diagnostic methods such as CT or MRT. Reasons for that are: The process is non-invasive, completely painless, free of radiation’s exposure and usable within the consulting treatment room, at the patient’s bedside or in operating theatre.
    
New paths to the human brain

Transcranial Doppler sonography (TCD) allows anomalies in the blood vessels and embolisms in the brain to be detected and analyzed. It also allows the investigation of CO2 reactivity and autoregulation and the study of reactions to specific drugs. It is also possible to recognize progressive blockage obstruction of cerebral blood flow that precedes a stroke and to treat this in good time. Thus TCD is an indispensable aid in stroke diagnosis and prevention.
