DWL® Monitoring Probes

DWL® monitoring probes were especially designed for DWL® fixations and are available with click&stay or threaded options. All monitoring probes are specially light and easy to carry. Due to the case that the probe positions are adjustable on the fixations this enables optimal adjustment of the temporal ultrasound window.
The benefit of the click&stay fixation lies in the ability to loosen the probe by applying slight pressure on the outer fixation ring and hence to realign the probe particularly, quickly and simply.
N.B.
DWL® monitoring probes are available with 2,5 meter cable length. Optional with 3 and 5 meter extention cable.

 

2 MHz DWL® Monitoring Ultrasound Probes

The 2 MHz monitoring probe is used primarily in transcranial monitoring investigations to insonate the main arteries of the brain, the so-called "Circle of Willis".
The 2 MHz monitoring probe can penetrate to a depth of approx. 30-150 mm.

 

1 MHz DWL® Monitoring Ultrasound Probes

Using 1 MHz monitoring probe it is possible to examine patients with hyperostoses and those with complicated windows.
The benefit of a 1 MHz probe compared with a 2 MHz probe lies in the ability to take measurements at high flow velocities at greater depths, e.g. in the case of vasospasm or deep-seated stenoses of the basilar artery.
The 1 MHz probe can penetrate to a depth of approx. 30-150 mm.

 

4 MHz DWL® Monitoring Ultrasound Probes

The 4 MHz probe reaches all arteries and veins located within the penetration depth of this frequency. 4 MHz monitoring probes are especially used for intracranial examinations on neonates.
The 4 MHz probe can penetrate to a depth of approx. 12-30 mm.

 

2+2.5 MHz DWL® Monitoring Ultrasound Probes 2

The 2+2.5 MHz probe was especially developed for the transcranial discrimination of emboli in the Circle of Willis. Unlike other probes, that probe offers a greater bandwidth of 2 MHz to 2.5 MHz, enabling investigations in dual-frequency mode.
The 2+2.5 MHz probe can penetrate to a depth of approx. 30-150 mm.
N.B.
The multi-frequency 2+2.5 MHz is exclusively for use with the Software Module Embolism-Differentiation and currently not licensed for use in the USA.

 

2 MHz DWL® Monitoring Ultrasound MRI Probes

MRI probes (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) do not contain any magnetic components. Therefore, it is possible for the patient to keep the probes on while undergoing on MRI scan.
MRI probes are available with 3 and 5 metre cable lengths.
N.B.
MRI and Doppler cannot be used at the same time for technical reasons.
