In our product range we dispose of four different probe supports. With the size-adjustable DiaMon®, the elastic headband, LAM support or adhesive bonding, probes can be safety attached to the patient.
All supports were specially developed for DWL® probes and can be reliably and multifunctionally applied only with these. DiaMon® can be applied with handheld or monitoring probes.
DiaMon®, elastic headband and LAM Set models with monitoring probes are available with click&stay or threaded probe fixation options. By applying pressure on the outer ring of the click&stay fixation the probe can be loosened and hence rapidly realigned.
DiaMon® is especially suitable for the examination of a patient who is awake. It was especially developed for functional monitoring and physiological tests.
Due to the case that it is pleasant to wear, investigations lasting several hours can be carried out without any problems.
DiaMon® is size-adjustable to the forehead, top of the skull and back of the head and hence can be used for head circumferences of 55 cm to 74 cm.
The head pads for the DiaMon® can easily be changed as they are attached to the DiaMon® using velcro.
DiaMon® with monitoring probes
DiaMon® with monitoring probe holders was deliberately designed with no metal components and, therefore, it is particularly suitable for radiological applications.
2 and 2+2.5 MHz monitoring probes can be optionally attached to the DiaMon®, unilaterally or bilaterally by click&stay or threaded fixation.
DiaMon® with handheld probes
A special probeholder for handheld probes was developed for the DiaMon® fixation. The adjustable probe positions enable optimal adjustment of the temporal ultrasound window. The probe holder offers easy positioning of the probe, fast signal finding and a comfortable fixing of the probe. With a final winding adjustment an optimal maintain of the signal is secured.
The LAM-Rack is a light probe support made of metal and particularly robust. Its fixation point is on top of the nose and is kept firmly in position by two ear plugs in the ears. Due to its easy handling, stability and variable positioning, the LAM support is suited to a variety of monitoring applications. The particular benefit of this support consists in the fact of no fixation components at all at the back of the patient’s head. Therefore, comatose or bed-ridden patients do not have any pressure points behind the head due to bands or straps.
The patient’s head does not have to be raised to put on the support, and, therefore, it is particularly suitable for use in operating theatres and intensive care wards.
LAM fixations are supplied in a set with two sizes (A + B):
- A = large – for a head circumference of 55-65 cm
- B = small – for a head circumference of 50-55 cm
There are four different LAM fixations
- Standard: For patients on intensive care wards and during surgery as well as for unconscious and intubated patients. Suitable for physiological tests (e.g. CO2-reactivity)
- Neurosurgery: For monitoring during neurosurgical procedures. The mounting is bent under so the operating area is clear at all times.
- Carotid surgery: For monitoring during carotid surgery.
- Mandibula: For patients whose nose cannot be used as a fixation point, e.g. in the case of nose injuries or surgery on the nose.
Elastic Headband is available in two sizes. Size XS/S/M (43 – 54 cm) and L/XL (54 - 68 cm). It is made exclusively from silicone and is therefore very comfortable to wear, even for prolonged periods.
The headband is particularly suitable for patients who are awake, e.g. during a function test, when detecting emboli or during a CO2-reactivity test. Due to the case that the fixation consists of a soft elastic material, there are no unnecessary pressure points. The patient’s hearing is not impaired as there are no ear plugs, such as with the LAM fixation. The elastic headband does not contain any metal components and can therefore be worn during X-ray, CT or MRI investigations without affecting the quality of image.
Due to the material's composition the elastic headband stays permanently in position on the patient's head. The probes can be removed before the patient moves to the X-ray, CT scan or MRI. Afterwards, the probe can be re-attached to the fixation and the investigation can be continued without any need of searching for the temporal ultrasound window once again. The silicone bands for the forehead and for the back of the head are size-adjustable. Three threaded bushes are available to attach the adjusting lever, and these may be combined as desired. Therfore, the area increases for the positioning of the probes.
2 and 2+2.5 MHz monitoring probes can be optionally, unilaterally or bilaterally attached by click&stay or threaded fixation.
Sticking the probes on the patient is an alternative method for securing monitoring probes on intensive care wards, in stroke units and operating theatres, and for more prolonged monitoring on unconscious patients.
Due to the case that all the components are made of plastic, such as the elastic headband, they can still be remained on the head of the patients during moving to the X-ray, CT and MRI investigations.
